As I have a fair number of photos on Flickr as well as here (although the Flickr account has been around for far longer) it’s interesting to see which gets the most interest. As things stand currently, I’m getting more recognition for the Flickr stuff.
My photos are now being used on a couple of travel sites, with the most recent one being a feature on Irish round towers on a Dutch travel site.
I’m just pleased to see my photos getting used, to be honest. It means I must be doing something right after all…
Over the last year or so, I’ve been developing an idea for a coherent photographic project, which also has some potential for commercial sales. (Although of course we’ll just have to see whether or not that actually happens - but it’s got the potential for sure)
Up until this weekend, the project was just an idea - but now it’s started off, and I’m really pleased with the first results. There’s a long way to go with it - I think I won’t really be anywhere close to finishing it until this time next year, and possibly even longer, but at the same time I’ll be able to start looking at the commercial aspects well before the project is completed.
But still, it feels good to have at least started.
While watching Channel4’s Grand Designs today, I saw the fantastic Holly Village in London (and a photo by Jesper Garde which sums the place up) which is somewhere that I’ve decided I just have to go and see at some point.
I adore places like that, and can see so many potential photos that could be taken there.
It’s definitely on the list.
